Photoshoots are fun. I’ve been a part of some commercial shoots where I’ve assisted my friends who are into commercial photography and otherwise too. The fun part of assisting any photographer is, you are equally important for the shoot. The camaraderie that you share with the photographer and understanding his vision is something that only a good assistant can cope with.
Recently, I got a chance to assist my very dear friend and photographer Anirban Mandal
for a photoshoot for Allen Solly
. Allen Solly is doing a campaign called #ShootForSolly
where they’ve shortlisted photographers and models across the length and breadth of the nation and have given them a free hand to experiment with Allen Solly’s latest offering “Chinos”.

Vibrant colours, vibrant people and a vibrant location (Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi) is what #ShootForSolly was all about for me. Our model was Vikrant Rathore, DJ, music composer and an ex-Roadie (Yes, he was in Roadies Season 5). A very affable and supportive person who knew his style very well.

Though, I was not meant to be a part of the shoot and I just happened to be there because I had a few hours to kill, I hit it off with the team at the location really well. There was such a synergy at the shoot because I knew almost everyone who was working for the campaign including people who are the brains behind this entire campaign.
And the most interesting part of the shoot was that I got to explore Hauz Khas Village like never before. Having worked there for almost a year, I never really explored the place but this time I did and how. Post the shoot, we ended up having a beer or two at Smoke House Deli which was an experience in itself. Loved the ambience there and I’ll be visiting the place again very soon.
I can’t wait to see the final results from the shoot. I know the results are going to be kickass. Sharing some behind the scenes moments from the shoot though for you to anticipate what’s in store for you all.
