To begin with, I never intended to read this book. It came as a gratification for an activity I participated in for publishers and seeing that the book has only 186 pages, I picked it up to accompany me for my daily commute to work. By the time, I finished reading it, I felt so glad and happy that I picked it up because it answered many of the things that were bothering me since a very long time.
The author, Shraddha Soni, whom I have had the opportunity to meet with and tell her how much this book has helped me, has helped many people and celebrities to discover themselves. I Am Life is her debut book which is a fictional story about Siddharth, a high-flying entrepreneur, who suddenly loses everything that he had. Down and dejected with everything going around, he books tickets to a Happy Yogi ashram in Rishikesh after paying a fortune when he was a bottle of scotch down.
After reaching Rishikesh, life throws Siddharth in various weird situations and this leads to frustration and breaks his morale in a real bad way. He was clueless about what he was up to. His past was haunting him where he hated his dad for not giving him money to join his dream job of a pilot to his son’s letter addressed to him along with many other things and that’s when Rhea happened to her. She helped him in discovering himself and what he really wanted from his life.
When I started reading this book, I felt that it is just another story of a man who has done all wrong things in his life and now he is dealing with the repercussions of it but as I dived deeper into the book, it turned out to be much more than a fictional story. The story had so many layers to it which forced me to contemplate on so many things. I could relate with Siddharth at so many levels though my problems were nowhere close to his. If I have to summarise this book in a single sentence then I’d say, “The solution of a problem lies in the problem itself and its only you who can solve the problems of your life”. Do give it a shot. I am sure you will be able to relate with the protagonist too and somewhere down the line, it will help you at some level or the other.
